Welcome to Parking & Commuter Services!

Fall 2021 Parking Permits

Parking & Commuter Services has returned to full operations. HSU parking permits are required while parked on campus, and meter fees are enforced.

Staff and Faculty permits for the semester or academic year are now available for purchase at the HSU Cashier’s Office on the 2nd floor of the Student Business & Services Building.

Permanent employees or temporary lecturers with a 12-month contract can participate in the payroll deduct program.

Eligible* Staff and Faculty may sign up for Payroll Deduct to cover the costs of their parking permit at the Cashier's Office in SBS on the 2nd Floor.

*Eligible Staff/Faculty must be a State Employee (not an Auxiliary Employee). Faculty is only eligible if they work both Fall & Spring semesters. Hourly/Intermittent Staff, Emergency Hires, and Student Assistants are not eligible for Payroll Deduct.

All other regulations are in effect 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

This includes Service & Yellow Loading Zones, Disabled & Reserved stalls, and Fire Lanes.

*The City of Arcata operates its own parking enforcement program including meters surrounding the campus.  The City of Arcata meters are labeled City of Arcata.  The City of Arcata is currently enforcing permit parking, timed parking, and meters.  For more questions on City of Arcata parking call 707-822-2428.

We are committed to delivering services in an efficient and friendly manner. Services we offer include permit sales, parking enforcement, alternative transportation programs, planning and scheduling maintenance and repair of all existing parking lots, emergency jump starts, and vehicle lockout entry. Over the next several years, the campus community will see a greater focus on maintenance and repair of existing lots along with a prioritized re-design effort focused on the expansion of existing parking spaces within the same footprint allotted for parking today. We will also be focused on the development of additional alternative transportation programs.

Parking information and assistance may be obtained at the Parking & Commuter Services Kiosk on Rossow Street, and our website's FAQ section.
